  7. Connect the work light and power cord.

WARNING! Use proper lifting techniques. Ensure all bolts are tightened securely.

Initial Setup & Calibration

Before first use, perform these calibration steps.

  1. Check blade tracking: Adjust upper wheel tilt until blade runs centered on wheels.
  2. Set blade tension: Use tension lever and scale for correct blade width.
  3. Align blade guides: Adjust side and rear guides to within 0.001-0.002 inches of blade.
  4. Square the table: Use a square to ensure table is 90 degrees to blade.
  5. Test run: Run bandsaw without load to ensure smooth operation.

CAUTION! Always disconnect power before making adjustments.

Specifications

Controls and Adjustments

Primary controls located on the machine body.

Front Panel: Power switch, blade tension lever, upper wheel tilt adjustment, guide post lock, table tilt handwheel.

Adjustments: Blade tracking (upper wheel tilt), blade tension (lever and scale), blade guides (side and rear), table tilt (handwheel and lock), rip fence (lock and scale), miter gauge (angle lock).

Speed Control: Variable speed dial (80-3500 FPM) for different materials.

Basic Operation

Follow these steps for safe operation.

  1. Ensure proper blade installation and tension.
  2. Adjust blade guides close to workpiece.
  3. Set desired blade speed for material.
  4. Position workpiece against fence or miter gauge.
  5. Turn on machine and allow blade to reach full speed.
  6. Feed workpiece steadily without forcing.
  7. Use push sticks for small pieces.
  8. Turn off machine and wait for blade to stop before removing workpiece.

Tip: Always wear safety glasses and hearing protection.

Advanced Cutting Techniques

Techniques for various applications.

  1. Resawing: Use widest blade, slow feed rate, and tall fence extension.
  2. Curved cuts: Use narrow blade (1/4" or 3/8"), mark cut line clearly.
  3. Ripping: Use rip fence, ensure blade is sharp and properly tensioned.
  4. Crosscutting: Use miter gauge, support long workpieces with roller stand.
  5. Compound cuts: Tilt table and use miter gauge simultaneously.
  6. Metal cutting: Use appropriate blade speed (80-300 FPM for steel).

WARNING! Never cut round stock without proper jig. Avoid cutting materials not recommended.

Safety Features

Key safety components: Blade guard, power switch with lockout, emergency stop (if equipped), blade tension indicator, enclosed lower wheel.

Safety Practices: Always use blade guard, keep hands away from blade path, disconnect power before blade changes, secure loose clothing and hair.

Maintenance & Lubrication

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.

  1. Daily: Clean table surface, check blade tension and condition.
  2. Weekly: Lubricate guide post, check belt tension, inspect tires.
  3. Monthly: Lubricate wheel bearings (if applicable), check all bolts.
  4. Annually: Replace tires if worn, check motor brushes, inspect electrical connections.
