Operation

Basic Maintenance Procedures

  1. Engine Oil Change: Warm engine, remove drain plug and filler cap, drain oil, replace filter, refill with recommended oil (approx. 3.2 qts with filter change).
  2. Air Filter Service: Remove seat and air filter box cover, clean foam filter in solvent, apply filter oil, reinstall.
  3. Spark Plug: Remove with plug wrench, check gap (0.028-0.031 in), replace if electrodes are worn.
  4. Tire Pressure: Check cold: Front 3.6 psi (25 kPa), Rear 3.6 psi (25 kPa) for standard loads.
  5. Battery: Check terminals for corrosion, ensure electrolyte level is between marks, keep charged.

Storage

Proper preparation for long-term storage (over 30 days).

  1. Clean entire vehicle thoroughly.
  2. Change engine oil and filter.
  3. Add fuel stabilizer to a full tank of fuel and run engine for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove spark plug, add a teaspoon of oil into cylinder, crank engine, reinstall plug.
  5. Disconnect battery negative terminal, store battery in a cool, dry place.
  6. Block up the frame to take weight off tires, or inflate to maximum pressure.
  7. Store in a cool, dry place, covered with a breathable fabric.
